Not Too Poetry

Jack of all trades,
master of none,
but oftentimes better
than master of one.

Apparently the first line was the original quote – given as a compliment.  

Then the second line was added to turn it into an insult.  

But the full (later) quote resonates more with me.  See also ‘polymath’.
