Moon Garden

[It’s been a while, I know. This started at 1.00 am this morning, with a moon, full red with roses or maybe carnations, and a sense that we had lost something which we might get back one day.]

Long ago
Before light faded to white and the universe went quiet –
The moon bloomed,
Star-bees made lunar honey and our rain smelt sweet.

But in the years since the vanishing and the moon turned grey,
We’ve all seen the world turn sadder, the rains lose their ambrosia
And we wake to dew’s more earthy aroma.

Long ago the moon bloomed
And may well bloom again under a more radiant light
Once the Gardener returns.

Revelation 21.1 came to mind. If we get a new heaven and a new earth, do we get a new moon too? That’ll be cool.
