Not Too Poetry

Must we create a silence
Into which God may drop his words
Must we start fresh discourse
In which God’s voice may be heard
Must we exchange our stories
To tell of God’s woven grace
Must we open the scriptures
To see truth on every page

The answer is as it’s always been
The truth is clear to all
Listen in every circumstance
To hear God’s gentle call.
